A Living Lineage

We are a Tibetan-American family in the Akyung ཨ་སྐྱོང་། lineage, our name translates as Earth and Water Protectors.  With nomads, land keepers, conservationists, and traditional doctors on both sides of the family tree, a new branch emerges at Jalu.

Here in the heartland, we are stewards of prairie and forest, and our land offers refuge to many living beings.  Each season we remove invasive species and seed beneficial plants, and are lucky to be among neighbors who do the same.

Our Kansas roots go back generations, and we revere this beautiful place that has been part of our history for so long.

In the Golok region of Tibet, our relatives and neighbors are making noble efforts to protect their land and resources from pollution, mining, exploitation, and unnecessary development.  The Nyenpo Yurtse Environmental Protection Association is a grassroots group that preserves wildlife, promotes biodiversity and educates the local population on how best to safeguard their precious resources and native animals.  Tibet is known to be the Third Pole, harboring the largest reserve of freshwater outside the arctic. We are in a critical moment in world history to make a difference. Join us in helping protect this vital land.

We pledge 1% of our profits to benefit this organization that serves our community at home in Tibet.
